Below are four engagement types that cover the bulk of what I take on, all defined and scoped before the work starts. Project pricing is fixed at the beginning of the engagement, retainers are billed monthly.
A defined project that produces an aligned set of KPIs and the reporting infrastructure to track them, designed for your team to operate independently afterward.
What's included
- Discovery interviews with leadership and the operators who use the data day to day
- A documented KPI framework: definitions, owners, refresh cadence, target ranges
- SQL data models built using your database (Redshift, Postgres, Snowflake, BigQuery, or equivalent)
- Dashboards built in Tableau, PowerBI or Metabase for executive, operational, or functional layers
- Documentation and a training session so your team can extend the work after handoff
Who it's for
Companies that have a lot of data but no shared view of how the business is performing. Common situations:
- Different teams report different versions of revenue
- Leadership reviews drift into debates over whose numbers to use
- A funding round, leadership change, or new strategic direction has shifted what needs to be measured
A defined project to run an A/B pricing or product test end-to-end, with the test infrastructure left in place to run further experiments after.
What's included
- Price elasticity work using survey data, historical transaction data, or both depending on what's available
- Test design: hypothesis definition, test/control market selection, sample sizing, and duration
- Ongoing monitoring with pre-agreed guardrails so a runaway test gets caught early
- Statistical analysis of results, including revenue impact and any cannibalization effects
- A clear recommendation, with the assumptions and remaining risks written out plainly
- Reporting infrastructure designed so the next test takes weeks, not months
Who it's for
Companies with transactional data and pricing authority. The strongest fit is retail, automated retail, subscription, CPG, marketplaces, or any business that sets its own prices.
Interim analytics leadership for companies that need senior direction now without committing to a permanent hire yet. Typically tied to a specific transition or milestone.
What's included
- Standing up or restructuring the analytics function
- Defining team responsibilities, hiring profiles, and tooling decisions
- Building the first (or next) version of executive reporting
- Coaching the team you have, or building toward the team that needs to exist
- A documented handoff to a permanent hire when one is in place
Who it's for
Companies between senior analytics hires, scaling past the point where founders or operators can run analytics themselves, or carrying a senior gap after a departure.
A monthly advisory engagement for leaders who want senior outside perspective on KPIs, reporting, and experimentation without bringing on another full-time hire.
What's included
- A standing weekly or biweekly working session
- Written review of dashboards, KPI definitions, test designs, and analysis
- Direct access for specific questions between sessions
- No deliverables produced directly; this is advisory rather than execution
Who it's for
Founders, COOs, CFOs, and Heads of Analytics who want senior input without bringing on another full-time hire or a larger project engagement.
- 30-minute intro call (no charge). You share what you're trying to accomplish. I assess fit and outline how I'd approach it.
- Written scoping proposal. I draft a proposal with fixed price, timeline, and deliverables. You review and ask questions.
- Signed agreement and 50% deposit. You countersign and pay the deposit. I confirm a start date.
- Engagement. I do the work with weekly check-ins. You provide access, context, and timely feedback on drafts.
- Final handoff. I deliver final artifacts and documentation, and we run a working session with the team taking it over.
